President's Report 2009
Since fall 2007 the foundation has returned to making a limited number of small grants in addition to its ongoing support for the building of a Bach organ in the forthcoming ConstellationCenter in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
This year we have supported the purchase of land by the Women's Studio Workshop in Rosendale, NY, so that they may continue their successful "ArtFarm" project, which is its sustainable hand papermaking program. We also made a grant to H2H-Ride for Vietnamese Children. This organization is sponsoring a 1,000 mile bike ride from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh to raise funds for several Vietnamese charities that support children living in poverty. Our Board member, Hilary Watts, is participating in this bike ride, and we are proud to support her and H2H's efforts.
All of these grants were originally proposed by board members in accordance with our recent grant-making policy.
